T5 owners, I got a question...
Is this normal for t5 bulbs to burn on the ends. Just replaced 2 weeks ago and the previous bulbs did it also

I've heard of it happening before. What type of fixture do you use? I have an ATI fixture and haven't had the ends get dark, maybe it depends on the fixture you use.

the end with the label gets really hot. I have a diy retro in my canopy with fans blowing in on both ends and a fan on the top sucking out. If yours are enclosed in a fixture with no air, that could be your problem

I have a 4 bulb aquatic life withe the LEDs and programmable timer ont the fixture. I have noticed this for the past 2 bulb changes. I change them at 6 months . There is a acrylic cover over the bottom. But there are built in fans on the unit I believe. So a 24 inch bulb is like 20 inches with the burnt ends. Lol
Is this possible do to the ballasts? I am going to call the lfs where I got the fixture last July it's comming close to the 1 yr mfg warranty , so I guess I will have them check it out ... But it just seemed odd that this was happening, and didnt matter on what brand of bulb. Stock bulb, giessmann's, or ATI ....

Your suppose to blow air across the T-5's where the labels is, so put all of the labels on the same side.
