has anyone every owned one of these
hi i have a 65gal reef tank and my next fish id like is either a bangii cardinal, or a blue/green chromis, or a black axil chromis and i dont really want the cardinal anymore cause i heard they eat small shrimp so then i was thinking of one of the two chromis...
so my question is can i only buy one of either of those spices and if anyone has former experience with them let me know THANKS |

The cardinal should be fine with the chromis, But sometimes when there is more then one chromis they will start killing each other.
Although I have seen people keeping three chromis in one tank, so there is only one way to find out. Hope this helped. What other fish do you plan to put in? |

My Banghai Cardinal has never shown any signs of eating all the tiny grass shrimp I have in my tank, and he easily could if he wanted too. They have snatched food right out from in front of him and he just ignores them. They are the same size as freshwater ghost shrimp and I have several in the half inch or less range.
Your mileage may differ. |

Banghai cardinals are benign.
Chromis are hit and miss: I my prior system, I had a lot of Chromi-on-Chromi violence. In my current system I've had a stable school of 7 of them for a year.

yep the banggai has never shown any interest in my two shrimp, even when he is hungry. but usually they will only eat frozen and not too many will eat flake or pellets.

i have one green chromis in my system with alot of fish. 3 royal grammas, a clown, sixline wrasse, bluespot goby, engineer, coral beauty. he really only wants to eat fishfood and play tag with the clown. they remind me of puppies. no biting, they kinda chestbumb eachother then chase each other. its pretty comical to watch

I would choose a pair of skunk cleaners for your tank. Any more then that and they might get territorial. The skunks will be very active.
What fish do you have now? How long has the system been set up? What kind of skimmer do you have? What kind of corals are you keeping? If you get a tang get the kole and add it last.

Yea, I wouldn't get a whole bunch of shrimp. Just a pair.
i would get 2 bangii cardinals next. make sure they are eating at the store before you get them.
