Lfs lying? Cubicous box fish
So I've always wanted a box fish but only have a 29 gallon tank. Went to my Lfs sat night and saw 2 cubicous box fish that were only 1 inch! They told me that their box fish only get 3 inches as opposed to the 1 and a half foot I've been told. Has anyone ever heard of such a small box fish?

I think the smallest species I have seen was listed to 6". Live aquaria does have the cubicous going to 1'6"... There is a picture so maybe the LFS is misidentifying the fish?

The smallest I've heard of is Ostracion solorensis (scribbled boxfish) they only get to about five inches.

Yeah it's the same exact look as the one on liveaquaria. Too good to be true

Haha - I was just at a LFS yesterday and they informed that they would get to be about 1 1/2 feet in size and are not reef safe...
The ones they had in the store was maybe an 1/2 inch... cute little things
