Sketch up of my new tank
So this is what i have planned, I'd appreciate if you guys can check it out to see if it makes any sense or if it needs any adjustments.
Tank: 40Gal Breeder Sump/Fuge: 20Gal Long Equipment: SCA-301 Skimmer (65gal) Return Pump Eheim Compact 2000 (528gph) or 3000 (792gph) Heater 200w (is that enough?) Sorry about the 1st pictures bad quality, i tried with my iPhone |

You might want to consider a 29g sump over the 20L. It's the same footprint, only taller. You can have more water volume.
If you are going to go with 200w for your heater, go with 2 100w. That way if one of them sticks on, you have a chance to find out before it fries your tank.

I would love to but at this point I think it should do fine just because of not wanting to shell out for another tank again loll, i have 3 at the moment.
What do you mean by sticks out? Does it make a difference whether i go with Eheim or Aqueon or something else? I had the Eheim, was a good heater but not sure if its worth an extra $10-15 for one. |
