Fluval Edge 6 Gallon DIY Sump
I am trying to gather ideas to see how difficult it will be to add a diy custom sump to my fluval edge. What will I need? Will I need to remove all live stock? What about cost? Will this take a while? What needs to be drilled? Thank for the help!

all you need is to drill 2 holes.. one for the overflow and one for the return. cost wont be much because you can use a 5g-10g sump/tank. I think it would be a awsome idea of doing it ,but i wouldnt because it is only a 6g. It wouldnt take much time you could do it in a day. But you would need all the parts and things. Such as bulkheads & tools ect:. Also yes you will need to remove all live stock and water.

Ya I was thinking 2.5 gallons. But having to take everything kind of turns me off to the idea.

Trying to drill a tank with about an eighth of an inch of glass thickness twice, will be extremely difficult. I'm in the process of making an overflow box and attaching it to the back of my edge. I cut the plastic rim so it just trickles over the back.

Could you heat up a knife with a torch and slice right threw the plastic rim?
