Best way to feed ova?

How do you guys feed ova to your fish? I am feeding my orange spot filefish and just worry that he is not getting enough when I spot feed with a syringe. I have seen people talk about straining and rolling into a ball, and also putting it into a jar? What would you recommend?

I use it to feed my mandarins with an aqua squirt after dissolving a hunk in a bit of water and breaking it up good and fine down around the rock bases in back where flow is minimal after turning off my powerheads and having already added food for the other fish so that the mandarins can get a good chance at the ova. This seems to work, as the mandarins start pecking around faster than usual before i target feed them.
