Confused about LEDs
Before I start I will apologize for yet another LED thread I have been researching through many threads and I am still confused about what I need to light a 40B to have basically anything in my tank. I am able to do DIY but some people have said 48 LEDs are needed for this size tank and others have been saying 24 LEDs will work. This build would also be on a tight budget so any money saving tips would help
What would be a good combination of colours? I really don't like the look of blue lighting so what do you think a good combination of LEDs would be? One more question, what is the difference between XP-E and XT-E LEDs? Hmm I think that is everything... for now |

I would think a google search would answer all of your questions:-)
As for colors I would stick to a 1:1 ratio of blue and white. The white will pretty much overpower the blues if they are set to the same power setting on the dimmer exactly what your looking for. As for color options you should look at what the radion, AI sol, vega ( if it's out yet) are running color wise and go off that. I just got a Chinese LED dimable fixture shipped to my door with 55 3W LED for $175. I went with mixed blue 26pcs.. Mixed cool/warm whites 25 pcs.. And 4 violets. I have had it going on a 24 cube for almost a month and love it. While ordering from china is not for everyone I couldnt resist the price point and took the risk and don't regret it at all. There is a HUGE thread about it on RC that's where I got the links and color info. Check it out it will help your DIY search for answers regarding different colors ,drivers ETC.. Lot of good info in it. |
