Whats is wrong with this plan

My fuge has a leak in it, and it is not possible for me to replace the tank. It is a built in unit and i cannot fit another tank though the metal stand. Honestly with all the top offs I'm doing I'm thinking I don't want one any more.

I'm replacing my fuge with either a single FX5 or two fluvial 406s. My tank has a closed loop and an overflow. I was going to plumb the fluvial into the overflow. So it would go directly into the inlet on the fluval from the overflow, go back to the return flow. For the water level I was going to plumb a 5 gallon bucket with a tunze top off to the back of the overflow. In the top off bucket i will wire a water level solenoid to a led light which will tell me when my reservoir is getting low.

The tank is a 120gallon.

Let me know what you think might go wrong, i've learned the hard way to ask first.

thanks

It should be good other than cleaning the filter often.
