shrooms

Can I simply break the rock in half that the shrooms are on or use a chisel to pop it in half without harming the shrooms or zoanthids? They are on each end of the rock.

Not sure I follow, but it seems you are trying to frag them? Mushrooms can be split by cutting it in half thru the mouth. Not sure about zoanthids. I would probably stray from ripping them at their base.

From reading the OP's post, there are shrooms and zoas on both ends of the rock. The question, can the rock be cut in half? The answer is yes. And yes a chisel will be something that will be needed.

Chisel and hammer. Porous rock like this breaks pretty easily.
