Exclamation RO/DI four stage system (no pressure)

Ok, so I just recently bought a SpectraPure RO/DI system (used). Hooked everything up accordingly... T-valve hooked up directly to kitchen line, ball-valve to shut on/off unit. Waste water piped right in to my drain, and my main line into a 5gal drum. Start up my first batch! very excited btw... no more trips to the LFS, Anyways no pressure! at all. Now when I plug the water going into drum pressure rises. Could it be filters? or what, first time owning one of these.

Yeah PH and Alk will be low. Adding Salt will take care of that issue.

Not sure about your pressure issue though. I do know the day I got my RO system was one of the best days aquarium wise for me though Enjoy

The FLOW (rate) will be low. My system (I swear the guy told me 50 GPD, but I'm getting closer to 90 GPD) produces 3 1/2 gallons of water an hour. Do you have a pressure gauge in your system showing you what the pressure in the membrane is? That will be a diagnostic tool to help you understand what is going on in the system, not the pressure of the water coming out the output.

Water comes out steadily, but my gauge reads 0 psi...

Now that is odd. Perhaps some pictures of the hoses? Where does the pressure gauge line go? It should be installed with a t into one of the membrane lines.

on another note, I was told that the blue line is the water for the tank and yellow is waste... but when i started the unit yellow line was steady drip and blue line a steady stream. after reading i saw it should be a 4:1 ratio, waste to DI. again im confused, could filters be installed improperly? should the yellow line be my ro? any help is much appreciated.

It sounds like something isn't put together right at all. Maybe the flow restricter is on the wrong line.

I'm not sure where your flow restrictor is from the pictures. Just call spectrapure's help line. they have been very helpful everytime I called them.

Is this the restricter? this is what i was told is my waste line, so i have it piped to my drain, but this line drips out kinda slowly.

Alright, called the help line... Told them the issue, they said replace flow restrictor, so we will see. filled up a 5gal bucket in about 20-30 min, so i hope that is the culprit.
