Is it OK to add Peppermint shrimp with a coral banded shrimp?

I already have a coral banded shrimp in my tank. I have an aptasia growing and was going to see if the peppermint shrimp would take care of it? Can they both share the tank?

This one you'll get sides on, but for the most part in a big enough tank, they will steer clear of the CBS.

It will probably be ok in that size of a tank.

I've had a coral banded, skunk cleaner, and blood shrimp in a 34g for over a year. It was a bit cramped and every now and again the skunk and blood shrimp would be missing some whiskers but they survived and had their own little spots.

Sorry to be the other side, but I have a CB in my 180 and he'll hunt down any new shrimp in the tank. I had a pistol shrimp that lasted about 3 weeks. I wouldn't even try another shrimp in my 180g as long as my CB is in there.

I agree with Ron on this one, I'll never own one again.

I was given a pair of CBS who devoured every peppermint (12-14 in a 220) inside of 3 months

I've got a mix of shrimp in my 120. The coral banded doesn't bother anyone. That said I tend to be a heavy feeder and that probably keeps the hunting to a minimum.

See my point. Its all in the presonality of the CBS. One of those unknown variables when it comes to this Hobby.

I had a CBS many years ago and it absolutely LOVED it when I added another shrimp. Mr. CBS had several great shrimp dinners.

I won't mix them either. Personally, I get rid of the coral banded. As they get older(and much bigger than people realize, ~5"), they almost always get very aggressive to pretty much everything.

I have 2 Cleaner & 2 Peppermint shrimp. I stood clear of the CBS do to many of the reasons already stated-- wasn't going to chance it.
