Hyposalinity Question

I'm running a 10G QT with a Penguin 350 HOB Filter, Heater and Lights.
Livestock: 2 clownfish. (they have been there for about a month, already did preventive treatment with prazypro)
They havent showed any sign of ich but I still want to do it just in case.
I'm lowering the salinity from 1.024 to 1.009 in the period of 2 days. I started today and I got it down to 1.016.

Before anyone freaks out yes I have a refractometer hahaahhaha.

My questions is as follow:
If they havent showed any signs of ich can I run hypo for 2 weeks, raise it back up slowly and then acclimate in DT and throw them in?? Or should I then wait a week or so after hypo to see if they are good?

Nope, if you use copper sulfate, then yes you can go two weeks, but if you're going with hypo or Cupramine, you need to treat for a month.

Each medication targets only a specific phase of the Ich cycle. You have to make sure all the Ich reach that phase so that they can then get killed. The life cycle is about 4 weeks minimum. So you need 4 weeks of 1.009 SG, add the days to get the SG down and over a week to get it back up again, and you are easily at 6 weeks from beginning to end for the whole QT treatment period.
