water change and molting
So I just got a fire shrimp earlier today, and he molted a few minutes ago.
I know it is probably because of stress and the move, but my question is that I need to do a water change on Saturday, its just a weekly water change, nothing big. My biggest concern right now is that I know that they also tend to molt right after a water change.Would it hurt the shrimp if I do a water change tomorrow (Saturday)? Or if i should risk waiting a bit longer to do the water change. I just dont want it to suffer or get hurt because of the water change. tank parameters: 16g, led full spectrum, sand bed, and LR. amo:0 Nitrate:0 Nitrite:0 Ph:7.9-8.2, temp 77-78 f* 2 clown fish, emerald crab and fire shrimp |

They molt when they outgrow their exoskeleton. I don't know that stress will cause them to molt unexpectedly. I've never heard that one.

I was reading on other other parts of the forum about shrimp molting from stress and things like that. But my main concerned would be harming them because of the water change that I need to do tomorrow.
