Saltwater Pump

Hi everyone, currently I leave my mag18 water pump in my brute saltwater tub after I'm finished my water change. This pump is new replacing a 18 month old Taam Rio Hyperflow 32 that has nearly crapped out. The magnetic impeller had become quite rough as had the inside of the motor.

Do you guys leave your pumps in your tubs or should I be taking the new mag18 out? Is it the salt that is chewing up the pump?

I clean the pumps along with the Brute container about every three months with some tap water and vinegar.

Thanks, so other than your cleaning you leave the pump in your container submerged under the water left in there after your water change?

Yup, I use about 25 gal. every two weeks, and make fresh SW right away and keep the pumps running the whole time. I have two pumps that are probably 10 yrs. old, and still running fine.
