Broken eheim 1250 pump

My 1250 eheim universal pump shaft broke after three mths. Does anyone know what might have caused this? Luckily it was my backup pump in my sump but now I'm worried my 1262 main eheim pump might break too. Anyone have any experience w how good eheim is w waRranty issue? I bought pump from brs. Thanks

I had a Eheim heater that went out and I spoke with a rep at a show and she had a retailer give me a new heater, so if you can get hold of a retailer that carries Eheim they can work out the details.

Did something pass through it?

Never had one just snap a shaft. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Warranty will be easy.

Thanks. Dont know if something passed thru it. I sent eheim my receipt and asked three separate times if they received it and no response past two wks. They also said broken ceramic shafts aren't covered but since I bought pump only three mths ago they said they'd replace it. I don't think I'll be buying eheim pumps again due to very poor customer service.
