What MH for 29gal

Hey guys, i may change to halide from leds. Can anyone tell me what would be good to light my standard 29 gallon with. Its 30"x12"x18".

Im not going to run a chiller, so im thinking that puts the 250w out.

What 150w halide will cover my tank well and give my SPS great color and growth?

I want 14k-20k.

I dont want t5/MH combo.

I used a 250w over my 29g Biocube. Just run a fan, no issues with heat.

Phoenix 14K 250 watt or Radium 20K 250 watt bulbs are beautiful, particularly on an M80 ballast.

Run either of those bulbs on the below ballast and you will never want to change:

Tough thing is that it's a 30" long tank so that limits you a little. Can you suspend a light above it or does it have to sit on top?

A good 150 watt bulb like PHX in a good reflector would be enough.

That's why I rec a 250w. You can raise the reflector and get good coverage and par.

it's open top no canopy ...my leds are hung down from the ceiling, adjustable height...whatever halide I get will be the same. ahh...you guys are helping the 150vs175vs250....I'd really like a Phoenix 14k or.radium 20k....

I have a 150w hqi and 4x24 t5 (current outer orbit fixture)over a 36g corner bow front. The 150w hqi is quite a bit brighter than my 4x24 ATI Sunpower. The 4 t5 bulbs just act as color supplement, 150w hqi run hot, especially if you have a m81 ballast. 250w uses m80.(250w hqi run on m80 is pushing around 320 watts! Wow)
