Help reassembling my Sedra 3500

My Sedra 3500 pump with needle wheel for may protein skimmer has been intermitently failing, not spinning the needle wheel. I have taken it apart numerous times and put it back together after cleaning with vinegar. It is now totally not working once I put the the assembly back together. Can anyone tell me if a nylon spacer goes on each end of the shaft or only or both on the outer end? I can't seem to find an instuction manual for this pump anywhere. I'm thinking I may need to replace the pump but don't know how to tell
if I need to replace the entire pump or just the needle wheel. Any advice would be appreciated.
