Tunze pump recommendations for 24x24x20" (shallow cube)

I am leaning towards a Tunze 6095 with 7092 controller.

The tank will be a mixed reef, mainly focussing on SPS.

I understand the 6095 has quite a wide flow pattern, but will a single 6095 be sufficient for this size of tank? I am considering supplementing it with a smaller Tunze pump like a 6025 to get rid of any dead spots.

I'd appreciate your thoughts and any suggestions.

Cheers
Craig

Depends on if you want controllable. The 6095 is a great choice. 2 of the 6045s would be nice as well.

Controllable would be more ideal.

I am hearing that SPS prefer more random flow patterns, opposed to a constant stream. The controller will allow me to create the random flow whereas the Tunze 6045 will be lacking in that regard.

Is this correct or is it fine to use stream pumps with SPS?

My main concern is that a single 6095 will not be adequate for the tank size.

However I have never owned a Tunze 6095 to determine its suitability for a tank this size.

Well, for years people have used regular stream pumps with SPS and been just fine. You just position your powerheads to create some good flow.

I'm not trying to sway you either way. The 6095 is a great pump and you can always add another pump if needed.
