Super glue gel in DT?
Is it okay to put super glue gel on a frag and glue it directly to a rock in my display tank? Thanks.

Yes.
I have done this many times. I put the SG on the plug or bottom of piece, it will form a skin as soon as it touches the water so wiggle it on the live rock to break the skin. Hold it in place for about 30 seconds.

I do it too. Its better than putty because it doesnt seem to release anything into the water (watch your skimmer after using a two part putty!). I find that it doesnt really want to stick to rocks so while its curing, I spread some it out over the rough parts of the rocks with my fingernail to act like fingers. You can also apply it underwater although it will likely clog/ruin your glue tip.

Just keep an eye on your fish. Curious tangs and other fish have been known to pick at the fresh glue and end up gluing their mouths shut.

I find the best way to apply frags or whatever in your display is the combo method.
1. Clean both areas with a brush that are going together. 2. On the frag or new item being placed inthe tank. I apply first super glue gel 3. Then a thin layer of 2 part reef safe epoxy 4. Then another portion of superglue to the layer of epoxy. 5. Then I apply the entire peice to the reef with a simple little twist of pressure 6 The epoxy acts like a gasket which helps the SP glue make contact with both surfaces, and this way you have no need to try and stick the SP glue bottle into the tank Happy Reefing |

I use the super glue gel seems to work just fine. I try to dry both pieces with a towel before glueing then let it set a minute or two before returning to water. I woudn't let the coral stay out of water longer than that.
