Dying mushroom coral

Alright so i had my mushroom coral fo a little while. They were doing fine but now the heads are all rotting away and the biggest head fell off then split and now all i can see is the white guts. I did move them around a couple of times but is that why they all started to die off?

what are ur water parameters and lights and light schedule.
mushrooms are very hardy and for it to be dying something has to be seriously wrong.

What size is this tank? How are you checking salinity? Nitrate of 40 is high but shouldn't be high enough to kill mushrooms! Have you treated your tank with anything?

2 things right there. Your temp is very low. It should be between 78-82. Thats a better range to have it at.

Also anytime you throw chemicals into your tank, something is going to happen. Whether its good or bad. Why are you using the algaefix?

i don't know about 2 actinic bulbs and no daylight. doesn't sound right to me. maybe some of the more experienced lighting folks can step in on that one.

There's a freshwater version of Algaefix and a saltwater version. Did you use the saltwater version?

Agree that your temp is low. Not sure if it's low enough to effect mushrooms, but everything will be much happier if you get it up in the 78-79 range. Also agree that 2 actinic bulbs doesn't seem right, but again... not sure if it would really effect mushrooms.
