Aquarium gas exchange

hello

will soon(ish) have my new tank up and running...

it is a juwel vision 450 bow front tank, 60" long, 24" high, 24" at biggest part of bow.

I have a remote 4 foot long sump in my garage, in my sump cupboard.
The sump will be enclosed in insulation and have plastic condensation lids on it to reduce heatloss and condensation / mold / evaporation in the cooler sump cupboard.

So on my main bow display tank (which has a full hood on it) how much should i keep uncovered for gas exchange? and does this have to be 24/7?

thanks

If you have a skimmer, it wii do the job. Gas exchange will happen more in the sump, canopy will be fine to use.
