^^this did help me in my search^^. Im still trying to identify all the hitch hikers that came with my live rock. So far i have Aiptasia, button polyps, and green hair algae. Are button polyps anything to be concerned with? I know the Aiptasia are an issue along with the algae.

Aiptasia will need to be dealt with asap so it doesn't spread (assuming you're sure that's what it is). Hair algae is normal in a new tank. Don't try to scrub it off in your tank and you'll be ok. Button polyps are good. As long as they're not in a place where you don't want more of them, they're a nice find. If they are in a place where you don't want them and there's not many, you can always chisel them off with a screwdriver and glue the bits of rock stuck to them somewhere else with superglue.

As for bad plants, the sites mentioned are a great start on identifying them. Just keep in mind that not all of them are necessarily bad. Grape caulerpa and bubble algae are usually considered pests, but they're two of my tang's favorite foods. So some of them can be useful if you plan to keep herbivores.
