Need sand cleaning help/advice...

OK I'm ready to put my sand in the tank. I picked up 80 LBS of Caribsea seafloor special grade reef sand. Now the question is how do I clean it. I searched on line and found that a lot of people use tap water via a garden hose. Once they have removed the lighter smaller particles they then rinse the sand with either salt water or RO/DI water. Which is best? Is there a recommended/accepted way? your help as always is greatly appreciated.

Put a bit of it in a bucket, rinse with tap water until mostly cleared (stir and our the water off the top). Once it's mostly clear do a final rinse or two with RO/DI.

Is it Live sand? If not then rinse in over sized bucket with ro water. Mix it up and the light stuff will float up.

Then use a water conditioner to remove the chlorine, and after that never, ever, ever let tapwater touch your tank again. Use only ro/di water. To do otherwise means a tank of waving masses of hair algae in which you cannot even see the rock.
