If You have an SRO 3000INT . . .
What's the water level of your sump where the SRO 3000INT is located? According to the specs, the optimal water level is 6.0" - 6.5". Even if I put it on a stand that does not leave a lot to work with. Why the heck does RO design its internal skimmers to work at such low water levels?
Thanks.

I have that skimmer and raised it to 6.5". It works great! I have to adjust it very little. I do have the automatic neck cleaner which is a GREAT investment.
Is your skimmer brand new? If so, leave it open for a few days so it can build up a slime layer. Then slowly close the valve 1/4 turn a day until you find a "sweet spot" where it'll skim without overflowing the cup. |

I have also noticed my Euroreef skimmers have also performed better in a lower water level, it has less back pressure on the pump
If you give the skimmer a vinegar/water bath it will greatly reduce the breakin time |
