Exclamation Leaky Skimmer

Hey,

My new skimmer is leaking! It is a Instant Ocean Seaclone Protein Skimmer rated for up to 150 Gal. It's a HOB one. Anyway, the little elbow that runs from the tube going into the tank and the main body of the skimmer seems to be leaking. It's one of those twist and lock things. Any ideas of how I can fix it? Here's a picture of the skimmer so you can see what I'm talking about.

The best way to fix it.... is to return it where you bought it. I am very sorry to break it to you, but these are just one of those products that don't work very well. I know people who buy them used and ditch the skimmer and keep the pump. The Seaclone skimmer probably has one of the worst reviews because it is cheaply made and has the worst performance aka The Seaclown. If you do not have a sump/fuge and are still looking to go HOB skimmer, I would suggest Octopus, Aquamaxx, or Eshopps

Agreed. I ran one when I first started a reef tank and I was cleaning and adjusting it more then it was working. Once I got a Sump skimmer I never looked back. 9
