Pump Selection and Placement
I am doing a new tank build it is a 250 gallon measuring (60x36x27) . Would you guys have any suggestions regarding pump selection, quanity and placement in the tank. I am thinking 3 Tunze 6105, and regarding placement, I was thinking one on each side and the back? Any suggestions, does this seem like the right approach? (PS - I have 2 corner overflows / returns on the tank)

I have two questions that will be important to picking the right model-
1) Thickness of the glass/acrylic 2) Intended corals (SPS, mixed, LPS, softies)

The sides are 12mm. Plan to do a mixed tank, starting off slow. Had corals before just want to start slow with some easier ones first then move to some more difficult ones.

The tank is a marineland deep dimension 250 gallon glass aquarium if that makes a differance. It has overflows in both corners.

In that case I think the 6105's will be fine, I would use the included wide flow housing and 24V jumper for maximum power. If you were going to focus on SPS or had thicker glass, I would then consider 6155.

I would use 2 6105, one in each back corner and aimed diagonally across the tank.

If I decide to eventually go to SPS predominately would it work to add another pump on the back to increase flow, or will the 6102's not give enough velocity?

What about the pump on the back of the tank, that I have read most people talking about? Would you only use 2, or 3 with one on the back?
