ai sol fixture ?

i have 3 ai sols with standard optics over a 60x18x20 tank.now from the sand bed to the waterline is only 15 inches i have the fixtures at around 18inches off the water line and settings at 50/100/50.now me haveing a shallow tank is it ok to hang the fixtures that high off the water.i noticed when i had my fixture at 14" my softies did not care for it but i do have some clams on the bottom i need to make sure they get enough light.i see people hang them 12" off water but they also have a taller tank say at 24" so with sand added i would say your looking at 32" from the light to the sand bed on a 90 gallon standard tank.i wish i had a par meter to really check how intense these fixtures are.here is a pic of my setup i dont rememer what the setting in this picture are but you get an idea my tank is not that deep.

Do a search on AI settings. There is a thread with all of the information you need for setting them. Just to help yuo out a bit though, set them all at 35% initially and ramp them up gradually. Judge the coral reaction from there. You are way too high. My tank is 72"x24"x30" and I don't go above 70%. Clams are no problem on the sand bed, even at this setting.
