Brain coral not opening

I have a brain coral that we've had for 3+ months that stopped opening about a week ago. Water parameters are good and stable - unchanged. Lighting is unchanged. Flow possibly changed but not since 2-3 weeks *before* it stopped opening. Feeding unchanged.

I moved it yesterday to a lower light / lower flow area and did an spot feeding this morning. No change.

Any suggestions? If it dies, how will I know?

Thanks!

-Mike

Could be the flow. Get the flow right and move the coral. They like medium flow and middle to upper tank. But some times corals just close for a day or 2 and then re open.

Through trial and error I've determined out new Flame Angelfish is the cause of the Brain not opening up. He doesn't pick at it constantly, but I've seen him do it from time to time and it must be enough. I currently have the Brain under a mesh net breeding box and it's opening up again. Obviously, this isn't a good long term solution. Any suggestions on how I might keep the Angelfish away from the Brain?

-Mike

Get rid of the angel or the brain. He will not stop.

Brain is doing *MUCH* better. Opening up to the point where it's now almost too big to fit in the net breeder box. Looks like the Flame has to go. Maybe today as now my favia coral looks like it might be closing up. Hopefully, I can catch the darn guy...

Thanks!

-Mike
