16gal Nuvo Cycle w/ sand
So I am restarting up my Nuvo 16gal. I have just some live sand in the bottom and added the water (Reef Crystals with steam distilled used).
I am just going to let it cycle this way. I have NOTHING in the filter media baskets. I will add Chemi-Pure Plus and a sponge to remove debris eventually......its just on order. Any other feedback of things I should do now? Im holding off on LiveRock I think till I get a cycle

Ditch the chemi-pure, unless you absolutely need it and even in that case fix the cause of why you would need it instead of using it.
I personally would get the LR as soon as you can as adding it after the cycle has completed could potentially start another cycle.

yes macro and a filter sponge will be plenty in the filter.
A few pieces of LR will help seed the system, though instead of adding my LR when you get your layout figured out just use base rock so you won't have to worry about curing the additional LR. Sent from my future self.

So make most of the formation from base rock and just use a few LR pieces to seed it the tank start up?
