Algae smell
I have a relatively new 55g tank with most of the stuff that came from my previous nano (LR, fish, corals)... It's about a month old with a sump and I have a fan in the cabinet to draw humidity out of the sump area.
However, with tihs air comes a strong algae smell. Now when I say strong it's not really that my whole house smells like that, but you can smell it if you sit beside the tank. I realize my tank is only a month old and still going through its cycle (even if all the old stuff was used) but the msell is killing me. Instead of the nice "marine" smell, this smells like in a badly maintained harbor. Is there anything I can do to "improve" the smell? Thanks! |

You are going to have to wait this one out, new tank = large algae bloom.
