to UV or not

Happy with my reef lots of growth and coloration but in the pursuit of always better have been debating a uv steriler and would love to here from you who have them. To UV or not to UV would you spend the money again,Am looking at a 120 wt emperor.

Depends what you would expect. Clearer water, some help in the virus and bacteria count, a little (very little) parasite control = go for it. Any expectation beyond that (IMHO) you might be disappointed.

If it's working don't fix it. UV will kill the bad as well as the good, so I think its best use is on a QT tank.

100% of every thread ever started about UV is the exact same typing doesn't matter what decade you read the thread from. if you searched, you'll get approximately a thousand times that question has been posed and turned into a 20 page thread, you'll love the stuff within its among the most heated topics.

If this is what you want, go for UV. Don't go the way of ozone for the same thing. It takes a lot of equipment like ORP controllers that are spendy little units.
