will i need a chiller?

I am looking at getting a aquamedic 6 ft with 3 150 watt my and 4 t5 to go on my 125 open top. what's the chances I will need a chiller to prevent too high of temps? I live in Alabama and kepp my house at 70 degrees year round.

Thanks

I used to run a 125 with an external return pump and 3 250w halides in Ohio. I'd imagine our summers are similar in temp to yours. Never had a chiller and personally, I think chillers are overrated and unnecessary in most situations

Is $300 bad for the light with three month old bulbs?

Agreed. Start with fans blowing cross the sump and see if that keeps it cool enough.

Doubt you'll need a chiller. Before you do, thought, try the simpler stuff - fans, switch to an external/non-sumbersed pump for your sump, etc. A lot cheaper to do that than get a chiller.

What about the price? Is $300 too much for it?

Save you yourself on electric bill of running MH and a chiller and bulb replacement if you keep your room temp consistent and get LED lighting.

Chiller, you don't need one. If you check my sig, you'll see I have 3 150 watt MH plus 8 T5s' in my 150. It is open top, but I use a closed canopy!! Ambient room temp is 78, tank goes 78-81, no chillers and no fan.
