New guy help!

I have had my 10g tank setup for over 2 months now and my fish and shrimp are doing great. my mushroom frag and green star polyps are fine. my pulsing Xenia are new to the tank yesterday but are looking wilted. any ideas ? i don't want to loose them as they are a nice colony.

Xenia issues can be difficult to pinpoint. In general they prefer tanks with water a little less than pristine (higher in nitrates and phosphates). For mostly unknown reasons they reach plague proportions in one tank and refuse to grow in another. They do prefer high light and medium to high flow, perhaps try relocating them.

To Reef Central

It's probably just stressed from being new in the tank.
Some folks have great luck with it.As a matter of fact some call it a plague.lol
Others have it simply disappear for no reason.

I have my Xenia in a very low flow and they pulsate like crazy. I had them in a med/high flow before but they were being blown away and they can't pulsate. Either way I think they will be fine.

For some odd, unbeknown reason to me, I cannot keep any type of polyp. Green star, daisy etc., all wither and die in my tank while everything else splits and multiplies. I wish I had an answer for your problems, but right now all I ca offer is solace in a similar situation. And from what I have heard, GSPs and Xenia grow like weeds so it might be for the best.

This morning the look more wilted. Online I read that iodine and alkalinity can effect there sustainability. Does this sound right?P

Whens the last time iodine was addded? Xenia require this.
