Does this hermit crab need air?
Just want to make sure it doesn't need to come up to the surface to get air also or if its just a water born hermit crab. He just seems to try to climb up the silicone in the corners of the tank. I wonder if he's just bored.

Looks like a Thin Stripe hermit. It'll be fine without air, but it's gonna get quite large pretty quickly.

Not a problem!
I had one for 4 years, in a couple of years it got to be the size of my fist. After that it grew pretty slowly. Never hurt anything in the tank, but was a real klutz.
