Cycle with lights...

Just started my cycle in my diy 75g build. is it recomended that i run my lights with the cycle, or does it not matter?

current setup:
75g DT
30gL sump with skimmer (not present) -> return (300w heater) <- fuge (added fish food here to help the bacteria growth)
70lbs of 'dead' rock and a couple live rock pieces to seed
40lbs live sand in DT
1 power head pushing 1320gph

It doesn't matter IMO. Algae growth is inevitable, one way or the other.
