Kessil A150 6500
I purchased one of these little LEDs for my refugium and I am super super happy with this little light it has tripled the growth of my chaeto. The light is very nice and it isn't bulky or hard to setup. I was running a Cadlights 24watt t-5 setup for over a year and I never once harvested my Chaeto with this new Kessil I am cutting about once a month! If you are having a hard time getting your refugium to take off and really grow I would definitely consider going this route.

That is a very good idea.
Freshwater Amazon Sun Kessil LED over a Refugium. Why did nobody think of that before?

Is anyone else using a Kessil Amazon Sun bulb over their fuge? If yes are you happy with it?

I also use the Amazon Sun (6500k) over my fuge.
Growth is much faster than when I had a CF screwin light over the fuge. It also looks really good too, I'm tempted to get some special show tank type algaes to grow in the sump. |

I have only just setup my tank, but I bought a kessil amazon sun for my fuge. I have only started the fuge since two weeks ago. I would say my caulerpra algae nearly doubles once a week. Great progress I think.
These are from my build thread when I first threw the algae in. Theres loads now! Refugium.jpg Refugium Progress.jpg Full Tank Shot.jpg |

Poor Kessil being demoted to sump duty! Such a shame! =)

I have a similar plan for my refugium soon. I will start by removing the rubble and sand. Then installing an eggcrate rack about 8 inches off the bottom (leaving 6 inches of water above it). Underneath the eggcrate will be a ball of chaeto, the egg crate will serve as a frag rack. This will all be powered by a Kessil Sky Blue (10k). Hopefully it works well.

I have a Sky Blue 10k, nice little light, the color is a crisp white with no hint of yellow.

My 10K gives off quite a bit of yellow. The light looks terrible. 15K and 20K are great LED's though. Still best to go with the A360 though as you get any color you want and are not limited.

I didn't think the 10k was yellow either. I loved it. I actually thought the 15k and 20k were entirely too blue. They're fine lights for tanks 18" deep or less, or a refugium light.

I did a double blind test, I ask both of my kids and my wife, I know not professional but no one saw any yellow in the light. So in my opinion I do not see any yellow.
