how long before putting Birds Nest up high?
I have a new birds nest that I put on the bottom (90g 24in deep) to break it in to the light (2x250 hqi + 4 T5) in its new home. Its been on the bottom about a week looks fine - a bit dull if anything. When is it safe to move him up higher were he'll make his home?

I have a 27" deep tank. I moved mine up each week, total of 4 levels, substrate being one and final spot being 4, about 10" from the surface. Just keep on eye on PE and color. Dull color = ok, pale or white = not ok.
HTH!

whats PE ? this guy is a cluster of branches that would fist nice inside a tennis ball. most is pink, a little dull but by dull i just mean its not bright. there are, however, a very small portion of little branches that are closer to white. he is on the substrate against a rock overhang. I'll see if I can capture it in a photo but getting coral color in a photo is nearly impossible for me.

here is a shot that somewhat represents the color Im seeing. Notice the front branches pale - they happen to be the ones most exposed to light, but still two feet under and off to the side.
