what does it mean when my skimmer is fizzing?
My skimmer is just producing fizz, where it normally produces ugly brown bubbles that pour over into the cup. I look down the center and just see clear water with twirling fizzing going on, no bubbles climbing up like norm. ?

Sounds like your air intake may be clogged or disconnected.

Check the air intake. Probably clogged or kinked.

They do that some times after a water change or if you put your hands or something in the water.

if your air hose that feeds the skimmer is very close to the surface of the water it can tend to clog up with salt creep. Pull the skimmer off give it a good cleaning . I have this skimmer, sorry i have the NAC 7, i hope its similair. the air hose that feedss your venturi valve is that hose that connects to the PVC pipe along side the main skimmer cone, then down below the water surface to the venturi valve sucking water and air into the cone. This is the same pipe that you can turn to increase your water level inside the skimmer. Make sure theres no dried salt accumulated inside. The hose on the bottom of the cup can be used to drain that nasty brown sludge into a collection cup while your at work, its a drian hose and it sounds like its blocked.
