Exclamation Good deal? Used 210gal RR AGA with stand

Thinking about picking up this used 210 gallon All Glass brand tank I found local to me. Has two returns and two drains total in the boxes.

What is everyones thought on this setup (tank and stand only) for $650?

(I think you can click on the image for a larger view)

Guy says everything is in good shape.

Good decent bad deal?

I think it is a lot. I am thinking offer $300 and see if he takes it. If this is a CL ad, I doubt he gets much, if any other interest. I would never offer more then 50% of retail for a used tank. The stand is the cheapest of stands - nothing special there.

Everyone around me in GA is quoting me like $1k for a new 180gal rr tank (let alone a 210) just the tank and no stand...

The guy originally wanted $800 for the tank/stand and now I got him down to $650

If it is in decent shape and you are happy with the price then go for it. something is only worth what we are willing to pay for it. just my 2 cents

Too expensive for tank and bottom stand only. Looks well used. Ive seen lots of complete set ups in the 200 gal range that looks a lot better going for a grand or so including lights, sump, filtration, and stands looking better w/ a hood. Ive seen 150s going for that price including live rock and limited livestock.

You can buy a new 210 for under a grand so someones looking to get 50-60% of new value. I would pay $450 max if it holds water

Yeah the stand is one of the main issues I'm having with the whole deal; especially since it is a 3 door stand with smallish 22in wide openings for access to the sump area.

no way I'm getting a standard 75 gal in there to use as a sump...

notice he ran his sump in the basement

650 still seems like a lot but as gone fishin said if you're happy with it go for it.

Personally I'd continue to shop around or talk him down to 350 or 400. I think there is a better deal to be had, but I wouldn't be in a hurry either. Plus I hate those dimensions...

I have this inlay I wanted to put a tank in that is a little less than 7ft long and maybe 12in deep (an 18" deep tank would actually look better in there but everyone says I should really get the extra 6" of depth in a 24" deep tank) is why I am looking for this size tank.

All that really matters is that you like the way it looks I think long, vertically deep tanks are hard to aquascape in aesthetically pleasing manner. Not that it can't be done, but the standard sized tanks don't lend themselves to it the way breeders or cubes do IMO.

He said he would sell just the tank for $550.

Stand doesn't look all that great...

Tank worth that much by itself?

Salt water is expensive!

If you cant afford a 650 dollar tank how are you going to fill it? Live rock will cost you that much.lights ,coral. A 180 is 1000 new just the tank. Add starphire clear low iron glass and your looking at 2000 just the tank! So 650 is a good buy. Just my opinion. Good luck.

I can afford a $5k tank, but why would I pay that when they are cheaper elsewhere.

Seems like $650 isn't an amazing deal but not getting robbed either...

If the tanks over 100 gallons I allways use the USED 2 dollar rule and the 3 dollar rule if it has a stand
2 x 210 = $420 and 3 x 210 = $630
Id say your on the money! you just cannot get big tanks for $1 a gallon anymore "inflation"

check for scratches with a fine tooth comb. They are hard to see until a bit of algae starts growing. If it's scratched $100 max, if it's like new $500.

True the one in Oklahoma has periphery equipment but those are low end junk pumps anyway. I am betting that the PS is more of the same, so all you are really getting is a sump in the deal. With all of that being said, I recently picked up a 210g with stand and lights for $425.00 in great condition locally on CL.

The only 210g you are getting for $100.00 has a hole in it the size of the SS Minnow.
