NSW and Petsmart
I was in my local Petsmart yesterday and they sell 2 1/2 gallon jugs of "Natural Sea Water". I looked at it and it says it is real sea water (purified). It was pretty pricey and I make my own so I wasn't interested but wow what a scam this is! Live near the Ocean, filter the water and sell it. I got to get into that!

What exactly is "pretty pricey"? Those of us with ro/di units can easily dismiss the cost of almost any water.

$7.50/gallon????!!! yikes! You could pay for a RO/DI filter pretty quick with that!
My brother in law had a FOWLR tank and used exclusively water from PetCo. After about a year he had a horrible algae bloom that he never got under control. Don't know for sure, but I suspect he was getting phosphates in the water. All things considered, I think you're best off making your own. that way you know and can control what's in it.

Natural sea water (Catalina Water) is about $4/5 gallons. It's all I ever use.

Once you get it down you know how much salt you need for your bucket. If you are only doing a 10-20% change you don't need to get the water fully heated, as long as the water isn't ice cold.... I find mixing up my water and doing a water change pretty relaxing. I have every other Friday off of work and my wife does daycare so, spending 30 minutes in the basement away from all the kids is a good time for me |

I have a BRS 5 stage now and love it, i use RO for cooking, my dogs water and my freshwater tanks. I have very hard water and the RO unit has been proven to be a fantastic purchase.
