Do Marine Salt Mix Increase pH?

Might be a dumb question but do salt mix increase pH?

Yes, compared to plain water, salt mixes raise ph to abut 8.2 or so at a specific gravity of 1.025. This is the approximate ph of sea water and the target of salt mix manufacturers.

Yes every brand of salt mixes a different water chemistry. Alway test water. I like red sea coral pro

well it all depends.. my tap water or ro/di water straight from the city is 8.2 so when i mix red sea coral pro salt in it after 24 hrs of mixing it comes out 8.2-8.3 and my tank runs 8.2-8.3 as well.

The salt mix buffers the pH to the 7.8 to 8.4 range. That means that if the pH was lower than that to start with then it will raise it. If the pH was higher than that to start with then it will lower it.
