Skimmer and gray cyano

I installed my skimmer on Thursday. It's not been about 2 days and it's skimming great. Could it be wishful thinking buy my cyano appears as though it's turning gray and starting to die. Surely, two days of removing the waste in my water couldn't have this impact??

It's exciting if it does.
