Its either aptasia or majano, I have never been able to tell them apart, but it doesn't matter, they are essentially the same problem.

small amount of lemon juice in a syringe right in the mouth of the aptasia will kill it.

Kalk will do the job especially if you sneak up on them and they don't close. The wand appears to be more fun however.

Or you can make a thick paste of Kalkwasser and water and just cement it in. It hardens in a few minutes in salt water. I have done this for years with a 100% success rate and a total cost of 4 cents.

Yes, it is aptasia. Use Jo's juice, lemon juice or Peppermint shrimp. (make sure it is true peppermint) There is some that looks like peppermint.

I would use them as an excuse to start a new much larger tank; one where you don't put aptasia in your tank. I would just go ahead and let them have this one because in the end, the will just drive you crazy and they eventually win anyway. When other people ask why you have a tank full aptasia, you can claim to be a humanitarian.
There is one positive thing, all the extra kalk will keep the cyano at bay. |
