What I've been doing... lately. Da Animal 180 Build!!

Thought I'd share the progress of what I've been up too. Well since starting a small business you hardley have any time to do anything for yourself. Early morning days usually 6 days a week, with long hours and hardley any money coming in! LOL! But once in a while you find yourself with the determination to go jump into the hobby full force and say what you'll probably get banned for! So as you know I had the mishap with the broken tanks that were never ment to be. so after researching I wanted to go with Atlas but money wise..... well that's another story. So I reached out to Tito and he got me my 180 delivered right to the curb from Perfecto. So after months of it sitting covered & Sheltered outside in the backayard I decided recently to bring it down. For some strange stupid reason I decided I was superman and would bring it down all by myself. I did, but not without hurting my back... lol! What a jerk off I was for that move! It was in, but now I had to recouperate a few weeks.
So on to business... I then removed the perfecto top black brace with a dremmel and boy they pile on the blk silicone I tell you. That it's almost impossible to remove. But it came off. I then cleaned it and polished it to make sure there was no silicone and it was onto eurobracing it! 3 weeks to do, and then I painted the back panel.
Now here goes my jerk off move again... figuring if I can pud it down by myself.. I can pud it up by myself!! LOL!! Not fun I tell you! I was so worried I'll drop it, but I managed! If the Egyptians could do it so can I.

This weekend I'll be working on the aquascape and making some water! Here goes!

Yeayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
Way to go!! Why didn't reach out for help? I am absolutely certain a number of people would have gone over to give you a hand. Don't do that again.

Can barely contain my excitement to see what you do with "The Animal".

Wow...I can't even fathom how you could have possibly moved that thing by yourself period.

Goodluck, will follow along!

LOL... Thanks Awi. Pics coming soon. Just want to make sure I set things up correctly where I won't have to worry about them later.

Hey Richie thanks for your continued support and advise. I'll be calling you for some info soon. TY.

Here is the new 72" DIY LED light fixture with 84 Leds. This fixture used to have (3) 250W HQI MH's with (4) 96W Power Compacts. I'll also be adding 6 Moonlights to it sometime this weekend after work.

Nice & neat!! Are you just using blue & white LEDs, or do you have other colors in there?

interesting.
Would you post more info on the LED set up?
It doesn't look as though you have the traditional heat sinks (that you see in the DIY kits).

Is this a solderless kit?

@Awibrandy... just blue and white LED's.

@Tunicata... As stated before the fixture was a HQI MH fixture gutted out and its marine board that the LED's are mounted to. Everything such as wires and drivers are hidden under the marine board(not solderless). Three fans are also mounted inside aswell to help keep everything cool. Doing it this way gave the fixture a more appealing look. The dimming control is on the top front to adjust the B & W LED's.

OPG, do you need help with your build? I can help if it doesn't involve heavy lifting. Let's get you set up already.

Hey Awi... I'm good for now my love, Thank You for asking!!

Picked up a few items today and I will TRY and get this puppy in place and start filling her up. I need to also move the 60G frag system over and on it's own sump.
Thursday I checked on the LR that's been brewing since forever.. and Phosphate levels were high... 0.56. so I did a w/c and today (Sat) retested and it was 0.12 via the Hanna. So I'll be doing another w/c tonight and retesting again. I actually neglected doing w/c's on it for a while so I can see why it was high.. I'm sure it all leached out of the rock and it's just the water... I hope LOL
