who uses POLYFILTERS

in their reef tank?
do they pull out your magnesium, strontium, and potassium iodide/
do they really lower nitrates and reduce phosphates?

Not sure about the other things but they do filter nitrates and phosphates in the sense that it is pulling debris and junk out of your water that other wise would break down.

Guys, a Poly Filter is meant to be used as a chemical filter, not a mechanical filter to grab visible debris. In other words, you use it instead of carbon, exhange resins, and ferric oxide.

Click Here for the Poly Filter FAQ page which should answer all your questions.

I run poly filter from time to time. No real schedule I just toss it in when I feel like it

After my last crash, which was caused by an introduction of copper to the system somehow, I'll always keep a Polypad in my sump. Fairly inexpensive piece of mind for me.
