starting new nano tank
Hello everyone... I do have quite a few questions but my most important are as follows:
I want the best set up I can get so I need to know brands first, who are the best for nano equipment, tanks, etc... I need that to be narrowed down. I need to know the specifics for the best set up. I have heard and read so many things that I am confused on what I need. It seems that all the info on so called "reef ready" tanks have issues and need upgrading so "what" exactly should be upgraded and the details such as needs better lighting... well what type of lighting? Sumps are better so what is a sump and where should I get it? Needs a protein skimmer, what type? Heater? Chiller or fan? Water circulation? I would prefer to get an easy system but am willing to get what is better also. I would like to also purchase an established tank from someone probably on craigslist and transfer it to two other tanks.... I want a picotope and a nano of some type. I appreciate all the advice I will receive Jenny |

What size are you wanting to go? 8? 14? 28? 30?, etc? There are a few good brands out there. Oceanic and JBJ for starters.
Specifics on equipment depend on what you want in your tank. Fish only, FOWLR, Reef, Mixed. There is a Nano section in the general list of forums that may help you more on this topic. I would also suggest to read the stickies at the top of this forum (New to the Hobby). And as everyone will tell you: Nothing good happens fast in this hobby.
