Sump sounds!

Any tricks for quieting the sounds of water dumping into the filter sock in the sump?

Do you have extenders for your tubes and can lower it into the sump? Mine are below the water level about 3-6 inches.

I use BeanAnimal's overflow/sump design. The only noise I hear is my skimmer and return pump.

Either add more water to your sump, or lengthen your return hoses to be submerged under water in the filter sock.

Depending on the length, adding more water might fix it.

Yeah return hoses. My filtersock holder came with tubes that actually extend/shrink so I can adjust the height... Once I put them way down it got real quiet.

My overflow plumbing goes down through the sump bulkhead and into the filter sock which is held in place with a bracket.

Same with mine. My tubes go all the way down into the water and almost touch the bottom in the sump.

I did what worm did, but was getting crazy bubbles, so I actually put the hose on the waterline (i do not use a filter sock), and had half in the water half out. Allowed the air to escape and the water to flow into the sump quietly.

I have the exact same issue. Everything is silent except when the water enters the filter socks. My pipe is a good 3-4" below the water line but I'm still receiving a lot of air noise. The overflow is silent.

My room used to sound like "Niagra Falls." It's soothing now...
