Rio 1400 question
Hey all,
I just got a rio 1400 and I'm really excited about this pump. The specs are fantastic and the pump was very affordable. I plan on using it as a return and I'm going to plumb my chiller in line on the way up to the DT. It came with a bunch of different attachments and one of them is for a 3/4 hose barb. My question is that this attachment doesn't appear to have any mechanism to lock it to the outlet on the pump. The fitting is pretty tight but it can be pulled off with a little effort. Does anyone have any experience with this pump? I'm worried that the fitting will blow off under pressure and cause a big water leak. Anyone have any experience with this pump? Thanks for the help! Joel,
They can come off, what you can use is a couple of drops of super glue so make sure its the adaptor you want to keep on the pump... |

im not sure about the different models having different options, but my rio 2100 came with a hose attachment... perhaps you could look into that or take it to a hardware store and try to get some connecting pieces to match up.
good luck p.s. even with the hose fitting, i still use zip ties everywhere i can... they're effective and not permanent. |
