Max spect Razor or Radion gen 2

I am thinking of getting either Max spec Rasor 27" or a Radion color 2nd gen.
What do you think I should do.

Tank: 48"x24"x24"
90% softies
10% SPS

I am currently running 2x250w radium MH

I only can afford $500-$600 for LEd.
Please suggest something. Thanks.

2 of the 24" controllable fixtures from reef breeders for $329 each. they may not have all the bells and whistles but there are many people who are using them with great results. look at the thread about these and see what you think

I have the razor
If you have a center brace its not a good light
There are 3 led modules on it
And if u center it over the tank the middle LEDs are right over the center brace
I have one on my 65 and had to offset the light or the middle light was blocked

If you Can afford the radions you will not be disappointed , I just switched from 400 radium and 150 vho over a 30x30x31deep and will never go back to MH. This is just my opinion and I think you will be happy in the end if you go with them. I don't know much about the other fixture so maybe someone else can chim in.

Both the Radion and Razor 27" would be poor choices for your tank over what you have. Stick with the Radiums.

If you don't mind less light on the corners, the 32" reefbreeders light can work on a 48" for $450.

Lol -GSMguy is funny.

How old are your current Radium bulbs? They last a good bit longer than 1-1 1/2 years and if your not having issues with your corals then keep running them.

I'm waiting for LEDs to get better & cheaper.

The summer is coming and the temperature is what most concerns me. I remember my tank was running at 84F-86F on a hot day. That was crazy. I lost a very nice looking anemony or two.

Minimum of 2 Radions over that tank. I had 1 radion on my 30x24 tank and even without corals on the edges had shadowing issues. I need 2 to get complete coverage.
