Tomato clowns
I have a 5inch long big fat tomato clown that thinks its his job to move and toss my sand all over the place. I come home from work and find giant mounds of sand piled up and i watch him pick it up and spit it out in front of my PH's. My PH's are not facing the sand either so i know its not that.
Anyone see this behavior before? |

I even have wife my texting me at work telling something is happening to the fish tank, it's all cloudy all of a sudden, then a half hr later when the sand settles its back to clear.

Take video if you can. I know it's not to you, but it seems awesome!! Makes you wonder what it's doing?

I've seen them pick up rocks and throw them. They get fat and toward 5" long and they can really tear up Jack.

Watermydoing, seems like we have very similar setups, I also have a 72g bow, and it kinda looks like you have a RO hob skimmer as well I have a mated pair of tomato clowns, the female being about 4 inches or so. She does the exact thing you're talking about right before she lays her eggs (which happens about every 14-21 days). They have claimed the back left corner of my tank and lay the eggs right in the corner on the glass. Before the she lays the eggs, she spends about half a day cleaning out all of the sand in her corner.

Portsie, I would love to know who mine is mating with.........
Certainly not my Domino Damsel, that SOB tears my arms and hands to pieces everytime Im in there. Not very nice. I'll try to get a pic. The pic is rather outdated actually, things have changed recently. Yes I have an Octopus 2000 HOB skimmer on the back. It's made a world of difference, have had it running for about 3 mnths now. |
